Arcane
Arcane magic was created by Lore. It manifests in many different forms. This type of magic is the pure energy that exists in all things. As such it has near limitless possibilities.
Soul Magic
The use of Soul Magic involves using one's own energy and life force to cast spells. This was the original source of arcane magic. All creatures with spell-like abilities use magic in this way. Bards, Sorcerers and any other class or creature that is limited by a certain amount of arcane spells known uses Soul Magic.
Soul Magic was first learned and used by the children of Lore, the dragons. While other creatures learned to use specific abilities or manifested a wild talent, it was the dragons that were gifted with the knowledge to train, study and craft spells with Soul Magic. They were the first Sorcerers. It wasn't until Oni's wizards threatened the balance of life on the Prime Material plane that the dragons began to teach others how to train themselves to use their Soul Magic.

The Weave
The Weave was created by Oni to allow her priests to tap into the energy of the Prime Material Plane itself. By doing so, they were able to learn a limitless number of spells from a never ending source. Over time, some of these priests became obsessed and devoted more time to learning magic and less to worship. These became the first Wizards.
To those with Weave Sight, they can see the Weave's true form. It takes the shape of hundreds of threads of pure magic criss crossing through the world like a thick blanket. Only those with Weave Sight can tap into and control the threads of the Weave.
(See the Wizard Class House Rule for Weave Sight.)
